ABOUT

I am a California licensed psychologist who specializes in anxiety and identity based disorders. I bring over 15 years of experience as an expert in disordered eating, particularly with college populations. In addition to this I have experience with a varity of issues including depression, anxiety, LGBT concerns, trauma, grief, etc. I consider my approach to be holistic and collaborative, I work with each client to create an individualized treatment plan to best meet their needs.

I received my doctorate degree from Antioch University Seattle. I then completed my APPIC doctoral internship at Western Washington University Counseling Center, and went on to complete a post-doctoral internship in the partial hospitalization program at Cambridge Eating Disorder Center in Cambridge, MA.

My approach is based primarily on principles related to CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy) and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy). Everyone can benefit from exploring ways to make their lives more balanced and whole. I believe that although identifying and either accepting or changing thoughts is an important first step, that the real change happens from discovering ways to make changes in our lives and becoming an active participant in this change.

“Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.” Dalai Lama

I also work from a psychodynamic lens, and encourage clients to discover patterns and history that may affect the problems that they currently experience.
